A new study by the Colorado State Patrol says Coloradans have been slow to adapt to the new law regarding cell phones. It’s now illegal to use a cellphone while driving. The state patrol says through September of last month they issued 701 citations for cell phone use while driving, a 188% increase from 2024. First time offenders face a 75 dollar fine and a loss of 2 points off their license. If you are caught more than once, you lose more points and more money. The state patrol urges motorists to purchase hand free accessories such as dashboard mounts.
