New details now on the homicide investigation after El paso County Deputies found the body of a man in a field early Monday morning. Deputies arrested 27 year old Khayla Dawson and charged her with 1st degree murder. The body of a man was found near Hodgen Road and Eastonville Road. Dawson told detectives the victim was her Uber driver. She says she got into the Uber and fell asleep. She woke up to find the man, in her words, trying to sexually assault her. Dawson said she stabbed him with a knife in self-defense and left his body in the field. The investigation is ongoing.
