Moor Hall Hotel and Spa in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham has displayed a 25-foot Christmas tree constructed from 100,000 balloons as a charity fundraiser. Balloon artist Naomi Spencer, owner of Balloon Color Blending, created the unique installation protected by a transparent dome to prevent damage. Spencer told the Birmingham Mail, “This has never been done in the U.K. before. People don’t realize the scale of building a balloon Christmas tree.” The project involved engineers, blowers, and a design team using biodegradable balloons. Visitors can sponsor individual balloons for $3.30, purchase memorial balloons for $13.19 to honor deceased loved ones, or buy branded balloon baubles for $165. Spencer said they combined “100,000 biodegradable balloons, precision engineering and a bespoke globe to create something magical — and all while supporting vital local charities.” (Story URL)
