Colorado Springs Police arrested a man late last month on charges of attempted first degree murder. Forty four year old Anthony Lopez was tracked down 6 weeks after he allegedly fired a gun at a Safeway store employee in December after Lopez was accused of shoplifting at the store at Powers and Constitution. Lopez has been in and out of jail with numerous convictions over the past 20 years. He reportedly is a gang member and as recently as August of last year was taken into custody for allegedly possessing an explosive device. The person shot at was not injured.
