The Gazette is reporting a man who was held in the El Paso County Jail during a 4 month period in 2023 filed several lawsuits, accusing some staff at the jail of withholding cancer medication. Stuart Mclaney says after being taken to jail he told officials he had leukemia and needed daily medication. He says despite repeated requests he never received that medication. Last week a judge allowed his claims against 2 Wellpath nurses and against El Paso County to move forward. That same judge denied his claims against El Paso County Sheriff Joe Roybal and a sheriff’s deputy.
