Colorado Parks and Wildlife has a new director. Laura Clellan was named to the post this week. She had served as the agencies interim director since December 1st. Clellan is a veteran, having served in the army and also the Colorado National Guard. A nationwide search was launched for a new director, and Clellan came out of that search as the only candidate for the position. She takes over at a time when parks and wildlife continue to deal with the controversy of reintroducing wolves to the state. Officials cancelled this year’s release. Farmers and ranchers say the wolves are killing their livestock. CPW is looking to resume the program in the winter of 2027.
