Gas prices have jumped in Colorado over the past 24 hours, due to the United States military action against Iran. Around the state our average price is now 3.02 a gallon. It went up 13 cents from the weekend. In Colorado Springs our average is slightly higher at 3.04 a gallon, an increase of 18 cents. Oil prices are higher because of the conflict in the middle east. There are concerns about the Straight of Hormuz, a key waterway for tankers carrying oil. The United States is considering using the navy to escort tankers through the area protecting them from Iranian attacks.
