The new “Time of Day” rate plan will be going into effect soon for most Colorado Springs utilities customers. Officials say customers can expect to be transitioned to the plan “Energy Wise” by April first. Under this plan electricity rates will vary depending on the time of day. Usage during peak hours, which are weekdays from 5pm to 9pm, will cause higher rates. Off peak hours are before five or after nine, on weekends and holidays. Utilities officials say anyone who doesn’t want to participate can reach out to them to learn about other available plans.
