A new update Monday on the 24 fire burning just east of highway 115 in both Fremont and El Paso County. The fire is now at 7408 acres and remains 0% contained. It’s burning in heavy fuels that are also dry because of our lack of moisture. It does remain on the east side of Highway 115. Firefighting efforts have been hampered by thick brush, low humidities, and dry and breezy conditions. An evacuation warning remains in effect for the Sandy Creek Ranch Heights neighborhood and Highway 115 in El Paso County.
