A request by the GOP April 20th to stop unaffiliated voters from taking part in the Colorado Republican primary June 30th was denied Tuesday by a federal judge. In Colorado unaffiliated voters receive both a republican and democratic ballot. They can only fill out one. The judge determined the effort to prevent those unaffiliated voters from receiving a republican ballot would cause confusion. Republican U.S. house members sided with the judge. They say leaving unaffiliated voters out of the June 30th primary would hurt their election chances in November. They say they can better track how unaffiliated voters are voting which will lead to better campaigning efforts.
