Thursday in Broomfield state leaders and the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control presented their annual wildfire preparedness plan to Governor Jared Polis. Officials say wildfire season is no longer just during warm weather months but instead is now a year-round concern. Polis noted how dry it’s been so far in 2026 and is worried about the rest of the year. Officials say advanced technology has been introduced to wildfire preparedness and fighting those fires. That includes satellite technology and better mapping of wildfires
