The founder of “Focus on The Family” James Dobson has died. He reportedly passed away Thursday at the age of 89 at his home in Colorado Springs. He began Focus on The Family in 1977. It grew into a multi media platform based in California. Focus moved to Colorado Springs in 1991 and at one time employed some 750 people with an annual budget of 100 million dollars. Dobson resigned as Chairman of the Board in 2009, 6 years after stepping down as President and CEO. Dobson passed away following a brief illness.
