Colorado Springs City Council gave initial approval to the 2026 Colorado Springs city budget. It’s a budget that is projecting less revenue growth than in previous years. Sales tax revenues are only expected to increase by 1.4%. That forecast forced springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade to make some 31 million dollars in budget cuts, which included laying off 38 city employees. City Council will take a second and final vote on the city budget before the end of the year.
