A terrifying early Sunday morning for residents of a springs apartment complex after a fire started in one of the units. The blaze broke out at the Montecito Apartments on east Pikes Peak Avenue. Six people had to be pulled from the building. Two have been hospitalized in serious condition. Several others were treated for smoke inhalation. It’s unknown how many apartments were damaged. The Red Cross says some 50 people have been displaced and they are working to help them secure short term lodgings. Still no word how the fire started.
