An update now on that multi car accident that killed 5 people on Highway 83 in Douglas County Monday near Russellville Road. The Colorado State Patrol says a Toyota Matrix was south on 83 when it swerved and crossed the center line, hitting a Ford Fusion head on. The Matrix had been reported stolen out of Denver earlier in the day. It was driven by a 31 year old male who died in the accident. The Ford Fusion was driven by a 35 year old man from Colorado Springs, with 5 children in the car. The driver died along with 3 of the 5 children, all from Colorado Springs. The other 2 children suffered serious injuries. This was originally reported as a 3 vehicle crash, but only 2 cars were involved. The state patrol is still investigating and is looking for anyone who may have seen the accident.
