The U.S. Department of Health and Human services Tuesday announced its freezing federal funding for certain child care and family assistance programs in Colorado and 4 other states. The programs affected are “Temporary assistance for needy families”, “Social services block grants,” and “Childcare and development funds.” The H-H-S cites the ongoing investigation in Minnesota where Somalis run childcare centers are accused of stealing hundreds of million dollars without caring for kids. Some officials say President Trump has made the move against Colorado to put pressure on the state to turn over Tina Peters to federal authorities so she can receive a pardon. Peters is the former Mesa County Clerk and Recorder found guilty of allowing access to voting machines to unauthorized personnel in 2021.
