New numbers are out from the most recent census taken in the United States. For Colorado, our state added population, one of 39 states to do so. As of July 2025 the states’ population sits at just over 6 million people. Our increase was 0.4% which is 29th among our country’s 50 states. There was a time not long ago when Colorado was among the fastest growing states in the nation. But according to the census higher housing costs and weaker net migration has caused our population growth to slow. Texas added the most residents from 2024 to last year.
