Two bystanders helped a springs police officer arrest a suspected shoplifter Sunday afternoon. An officer on duty at a store in the 600 block of north Murray tried to stop a suspected shoplifter who ran outside and reportedly assaulted the officer. Two passersby jumped into action and helped the officer take down the suspect. He was identified as Nick Arnaud. A full list of charges the suspect faces was not released. The officer suffered minor injuries.
