A former Colorado Springs Police officer has been decertified from peace officer standards. Last July, officer Thomas Polistina, was placed on administrative leave after unknown allegations were made against him. Officials say an investigation revealed Polistina knowingly made an untruthful statement. He resigned from the department in August and his certification was revoked for what police called untruthfulness earlier this month.
