The Gazette is reporting Colorado Springs Utilities is proposing a slight rate decrease for customers. The utilities board received the rate reduction plan Wednesday, which calls for, if approved an average savings to customers of 1.54 cents a month, which would begin October 1st. In April springs utilities joined the Southwest Power Pool, a regional group of electric utilities that cover 17 states. It has allowed springs utilities to purchase less expensive power and pass the savings to customers. Springs City Council will consider the plan next week.
