This morning the United Football League announced it is awarding a franchise to Colorado Springs which will begin play next spring. The team will play its home games at Weidner Field, with the first home game set for April 11th. The UFL will feature 8 teams in 2027, including a new franchise in Rhode Island. They will add 2 more teams in Utah and Oklahoma in 2028. Among the investors in the United Football League is actor and former professional wrestler Dwayne Johnson.
