An update on the Rock Creek Fire burning southwest of Colorado Springs west of Highway 115. Authorities say the fire has burned 1 ½ acres and is 30% contained. Today’s plan for firefighters is to push for higher containment levels. The El Paso County Sheriff’s office says no structures have been burned, no roads are closed, and, at the moment there are no pre-evacuation orders. There is a chance of rain in the area later this afternoon which could help fire fighters knock the blaze down. Still no word on how it began.
