Firefighters are still battling a 5 acre blaze in El Paso County southwest of Colorado Springs and just west of Highway 115. It’s called the Rock Creek Fire. Authorities don’t know how the fire began. It was spotted yesterday afternoon. A spokesperson said Wednesday morning crews are on the ground and 2 helicopters are dropping water on the fire. No containment is reported. The blaze is reportedly burning in heavy fuels. A pre-evacuation order is in effect for a mile and half radius of Rock Creek Canyon road.
