The judge in the Barry Morphew case Monday set a trial date for July 19th 2027. Morphew is accused of first degree murder in the death of his wife Suzanne. She disappeared from her home outside Salida in 2020. Her body was found 3 years later outside the town of Saguache. The prosecutor told the judge she would be introducing evidence of physical abuse by Morphew against his wife. The judge earlier granted a request by the defense to push the trial back a number of months because there is so much evidence in the case. Another hearing is set for mid September.
