A question for Colorado voters in November about wealthy residents paying higher taxes. The Colorado Secretary of States office certified the measure, known now as initiative 195. It would ask residents to consider creating a tax scale where those that make more money pay more taxes. In Colorado everybody pays 4.4% state income taxes. If passed it would raise taxes on those that make between a half a million and 3 quarters of a million dollars a year to 7.4%. Residents earning more could see tax rates of 8.4%. The initiative would actually lower taxes for those who make between 25 thousand and 100 thousand dollars a year to 4.2%.
