Democratic challenger Jennifer Killin continues to lead republican incumbent Jeff Crank in the 5th Congressional District race. Updated numbers Thursday morning from the Colorado Secretary of States office show Killin leading Crank 51 to 46%. She has a 13 thousand vote lead with 88% of the ballots counted. It’s believed the remaining ballots that need to be tabulated are those that were turned in on election day. Should Killin hold the lead she would become the first democrat to win the 5th district seat. Political experts say Killin’s military experience swayed some republican voters to her side, and they add Cranks support of President Trump on many issues hurt his chances to repeat. These numbers are still unofficial.
