The city of Colorado Springs responded to a lawsuit filed earlier this week in Denver by several groups wanting the city to move its off year elections from April to November. The League of Women Voters, along with Common Cause Colorado and Citizens Project filed the suit, saying by holding city elections in April Colorado Springs is discriminating against minorities. They say less minorities vote in the April elections. Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade disagreed. A similar lawsuit was filed several years ago but was eventually dismissed.
