The latest on wildfires around the region. A new fire started Monday, the Aspen Acres fire in Rye. It’s burned 35 acres and there are mandatory evacuations. UPDATE-935AM 6-29 FIRE OFFICIALS HAVE ORDERED THE FULL EVACUATION OF THE TOWN OF BEULAH IN CUSTER COUNTY BECAUSE OF THIS FIRE. 3 firefighters are being remembered for their courage and bravery after they were killed fighting the Snyder Fire Saturday on the Utah Colorado border south of Grand Junction. That’s the largest fire burning at the moment at 29 thousand acres. Firefighters continue to battle the Gold Mountain Fire north of Ouray which at last report has consumed more than 42 hundred acres, and west of Leadville the Willow Fire has burned more than a 1000 acres. No word on how any of these fires began.
