Buc-ee’s Travel Centers continue their push to build at I-25 and County Line road on top of Monument Hill. They recently purchased two parcels of land that, combined are big enough for the project. But they are still looking for permission to begin construction. The company has asked El Paso county if the travel center could be classified as a convenience store. The county’s planning and community development director says, at the moment, it’s not clear if the project meets the definition. Buc-ee’s has 30 days to file an appeal of that decision.
