The Front Range Passenger Rail District gave an update on the “Colorado Connector” as it’s called-passenger rail service from Fort Collins to Trinidad with 1-2 stops in Colorado Springs. Next month officials with Coco will decide if they will ask voters in districts the proposed train would go through, if they would pass a measure of a 1 cent sales tax on every 3 dollars spent to fund the service. Organizers say they have enough money right now to build the Denver to Fort Collins link. The rest of the service, from Denver down to Trinidad would cost 1.7 trillion dollars. Officials say they may have alternate plans if some of the districts say no to the tax.
