Springs police are still gathering evidence after a man allegedly ran over a pedestrian Saturday in the springs. The accident happened in the 4700 block of Sand Mountain Point. The incident was described by witnesses as a hit and run, and the driver then took off. The victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver reportedly turned himself in to police later in the day. He was identified as Donald Laughlin. At the moment this is being investigated as an assault. Authorities have not said if the victim was targeted.
