A vote Monday night by Monument’s town council to place a 6 month moratorium on any applications for A-I data centers. Over the last 18 months applications for data centers have risen dramatically around the country. Many residents are against them because of the noise they generate, the amount of electricity they use and the large amount of water needed to keep those plants cool. Monument officials want to study the topic in detail before moving forward on any kind of support or opposition.
