A doctor in Durango is accused of billing the states’ Medicaid program for 375 thousand dollars for drugs he was not licensed to prescribe. The Colorado Attorney General’s office says Dr Daniel Caplin’s company “Colorado Treatment Addiction Services” was cited for numerous violations 4 years ago and after failing to make required changes, lost its license in June of 2022. But the state Attorney Generals’ Office alleges Caplin continued to treat patients, and sent bills to “Health First Colorado” the states’ Medicaid program for close to 375 thousand dollars. Caplin would later shut down his clinic in December of 2023.
