The city auditor for Colorado Springs addressed City Council Monday discussing gaps in city policy connected to the use of city resources for personal use. Auditor Natalie Novell said she reviewed 5 instances where Mayor Yemi Mobolade was accompanied by part of his security detail on non-city business. She said her investigation brought to light gaps that show no city policies that define what should or should not be allowed for an elected officials security detail. The city audit committee is recommending drawing up a clear policy defining the use of city resources by elected leaders.
