The Federal Communication Commission has approved a plan to eventually allow the owners of KOAA TV Channel 5, EW Scripps to take ownership of KKTV 11 News. The announcement of the acquisition was made last summer, but only recently was given FCC approval to move forward. E.W. Scripps officials say the deal is not completed just yet. There is no word on what the plans are for both stations or when the agreement will be finalized.
