Colorado Springs police say there were two separate incident’s Sunday where officers were assaulted during arrests. The first happened early Sunday morning on a call of shoplifting. An officer was punched in the face as he made contact with an alleged shoplifter walking out of a store in the 1500 block of Space Center Drive. Police say a civilian helped the officer get the suspect under control. 29 year old Arron Wiebe faces several charges.
Around noon Sunday a suspect, identified as Jullisa Pruiett fought with officers as they interviewed her in a case of domestic assault. Two police officers suffered minor injuries as they took her into custody. She is facing 3 charges of assault, on the original call, and during her arrest.
