Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Victor Marx has been hit with a fine of just over 57 thousand dollars for accepting campaign contributions above the allowable limit. Candidates for governor can accept contributions of up to 1450 dollars per person. Campaign organizers say they unintentionally accepted larger amounts because of their inexperience. State officials say some 203 contributions of more than 1450 dollars were accepted. It’s unknown if the Marx campaign will appeal the decision. The campaign must refund those contributions if possible or donate them to charity.
