Rockies rally past Giants for 2nd road win of season

Hunter Goodman singled in Jordan Beck with the go-ahead run in the eighth inning as the visiting Colorado Rockies rallied for a 4-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants in the opener of their four-game series on Thursday night.Ryan McMahon homered and Brenton Doyle and Alan Trejo each had two hits for Colorado, which won back-to-back games for the first time this season. It also was just the second road win in 16 games this season for the Rockies, and the first since March 29 at Tampa Bay.Angel Chivilli (1-2) picked up the win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief and Zach Agnos pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to pick up his second save in two days. Kyle Freeland allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings in his 207th career start with the Rockies, breaking the franchise record of 206 for starts held by Aaron Cook.Heliot Ramos homered, Wilmer Flores went 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored and Willy Adames and Mike Yastrzemski each added two hits for the Giants, who lost their season-high third consecutive game. Tyler Rogers (2-1) suffered the loss, allowing two run on three hits in one inning of relief.San Francisco took a 1-0 lead when Ramos led off the bottom of the first with his fifth home run, a 430-foot line drive to left-center.
