AIR FORCE ACADEMY, CO – New security procedures go into effect at the Air Force Academy this morning.
Until further notice, daily north gate access between 9am and 5pm has been suspended in accordance with a USNORTHCOM directive.
Access for official Academy events will be permitted on a case-by-case basis.
Department of Defense ID cardholders can anticipate delays entering the installation, and there may be traffic back-ups near both gates.
The Academy says the measures are in place to ensure the safety and security of personnel, cadets, and assets.
