UPDATE: Hostage situation ends. Suspect in custody, victim found with gunshot wound

UPDATE: El Paso County Sheriff says a man is in custody after allegedly holding his wife hostage overnight in the Security-Widefield area. 42-year-old Gregory Lorbiecki was arrested early this morning on Harrington Drive.

The suspects wife was found with a gunshot wound inside the home. There is no word on her condition.

A standoff began just before 1 am as a domestic incident. Two teens were able to exit the home safely.  Neighbors were evacuated, as negotiations progressed.

Authorities say there is a long history of domestic violence at this house, and the suspect is known to the Sheriff’s Office.

No other details were released.
