A man injured in a 2012 raid on his Colorado Springs home is told he can’t sue members of the police department for excessive force

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A man injured in a 2012 raid on his Colorado Springs home is told he can’t sue members of the police department for excessive force.

The U.S. Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver announced Tuesday more than a dozen police officers and staff members cannot be sued by Ronald Dwayne Brown.

Brown was injured when he refused to come out of his home and police detonated a bomb trying to locate his position in his basement.

The court says each officer named by Brown had qualified immunity and could not be sued for damages.
