COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A dangerous situation for Colorado Springs firefighters Thursday, as they battled a homeless fire in an underground storm drain…smoke was seen billowing from a manhole near I-25 and Bijou.
Crews spent hours searching for anyone who may have been trapped.
No one was found.
The city of Colorado Springs is looking at ways to discourage people from going into the drains.
