The Colorado State Patrol says all four high school boys involved in a double-fatality car crash in Black Forest are believed to have been under the influence of alcohol.
The Colorado Division of Liquor Enforcement is joining the investigation in an effort to determine who supplied the boys with alcohol. If the agencies can identify a suspect, the individual likely will be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Four boys were in the car. The 17-year-old driver faces charges of vehicular homicide. He’s in juvenile detention, and is scheduled for a hearing on Friday, at which time a magistrate will decide whether to charge him as a juvenile or an adult.
Meanwhile passenger Jack Clarke of Monument is in fair condition at Penrose Hospital, and the families of Beau Begier and Ryan Pappas, both of Monument, are making funeral preparations.
