A deadly end to an hours-long manhunt in Pueblo West on Tuesday.
26-year-old Christina Furber was found dead in the trunk of a car on Shenandoah Drive Tuesday morning. There’s no apparent connection between Furber and that home. She allegedly got in through a dog door. She appears to have shot herself.
She’d been on the run after shooting at a police officer, Sgt. Shelly Taylor, during a traffic stop hours earlier. The officer returned fire, but no one was hit.
Pueblo County authorities continue to investigate. The officer involved has not been placed on administrative leave.
