A violent assault at a motel on Platte Ave. lands a man in jail and a woman in the hospital. Responding to a hang-up 911 call last night, Springs police found a woman with severe facial injuries. She said she’d been assaulted by her boyfriend, 38-year-old Larry Smith.
Officers entered the motel room, but Smith wasn’t there. He was later found hiding in a vehicle at a nearby car lot. Smith was arrested on felony assault charges.
The victim’s injuries were not life threatening.
