Colorado Springs State Representative Gordon Klingenschmitt issues apology

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Colorado Springs State Representative Gordon Klingenschmitt has been kicked off of the Health Insurance and Environment Committee in the State House over comments he made about the attack on a pregnant Longmont woman.

Michelle Wilkins was attacked in a Longmont home after responding to an ad for baby clothes.  She was seven months pregnant and her womb was cut open and the baby removed. The fetus did not survive. Dynel Lane has been charged with unlawful termination of pregnancy and several other felonies.

Klingenschmitt later issued a public apology.
