Patient being evaluated for Ebola in Colorado

LOVELAND, CO – 

UPDATE: Patient tested negative for the Ebola virus.

A Colorado patient is being evaluated for Ebola after experiencing some of the symptoms.

The state health department is conducting an Ebola test on the unidentified patient at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland.

A specially equipped ambulance took the person to the hospital Wednesday evening after becoming ill. The individual had recently traveled to an Ebola-affected country.

The Colorado Department of Health says the patient is considered to be at low risk of infection.

The person is in an isolated and secure area. The results of the Ebola test could be known today.
