Still no answers in unexplained death of Cadet Alexander Quiros

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Air Force Academy and Cheyenne Mountain High School communities are in shock over the unexplained death of Cadet Alexander Quiros.

The 21-year-old was weeks away from finishing his senior year at the Academy. He was a 2011 graduate of Cheyenne Mountain.

Quiros was discovered suffering undisclosed injuries in his dorm room Thursday, and was pronounced dead that afternoon.

Authorities say no one was in the room with him, and they do not suspect suicide. Quiros had wisdom teeth removed earlier in the day.

The Air force Office of Special Investigations is probing the death. Funeral arrangements are not complete.

On Friday, the Academy enhanced security around the campus.
