COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – A Fort Carson soldier died in a head-on motorcycle crash in Colorado Springs Saturday.
24-year-old Christopher Higginbotham of Tennessee was killed when his motorcycle hit a pickup truck at Highway 24 and Cimarron. He was riding with a group when they came up on slower-moving traffic.
To avoid a collision, Higginbotham swerved into oncoming lanes and struck a pickup truck. Higginbotham died at the scene.
Police say Higginbotham was riding at 60 mph in a 35 mph zone. No one in the truck was injured.
