PROWERS COUNTY, CO – Two people are dead and several injured after an 11-vehicle pileup in southeastern Colorado.

A dust storm caused the chain-reaction crash on Highway 287 near Lamar Wednesday evening. A vehicle slowed because of the dust, setting off the crash that involved both passenger vehicles and tractor-trailers.

Several people were also rushed to hospitals with unspecified injuries.

The two people who died were in separate vehicles, but no more information about them was available.
